Rochester Central Station's 32 bus bays are inside a terminal, which will significantly reduce bus congestion and traffic delays on Main Street. All RTS buses will have designated permanent berths, increasing even further the ease of use of the new transit services over the current operation. The configuration of the Rochester Central Station pedestrian traffic circulation will allow pedestrians to pass through the station from East Main Street to Mortimer Street and vise-versa.  In this way the station will function as an amenity to area workers, new residents and visitors seeking a sheltered pedestrian mid-block connection.
